Ethel Caroline Nicholson was the youngest of three children born to the late George Andrew Myers and Mary Elizabeth Holland Myers on January 8th, 1936, in Howard County Maryland.

She departed this life on August 16th, 2025. She received her education in the Howard County Public School System.

Ethel, also known as “Birdie,” loved to dress and dance as well as spend time with her Son, Granddaughter, family, and friends. She was a long-time member of Asbury Jessup United Methodist Church of Jessup Maryland. She later became a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church in Hanover Maryland, where she was a member of the Chancel Choir.

Ethel was employed as a Daycare Educator for over 20 years. It was during that time she met who would become her best friend, Mrs. Arie Goldson. They would spend countless hours on the phone talking about current events, as well as attending church and shopping together.

She enjoyed watching soap operas and tending to her flowers. Whenever there were social gatherings, she would be called upon to make the potato salad.

Ethel was preceded in death by her husband Charles Stanley Nicholson, to whom she was married for 23 years, one sister Mary Elizabeth Blagman (Alexandar), one Half-Brother Jerry Gross (Gladys).

Ethel leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Arnold Myers, one Granddaughter Shanice Myers, one sister Jeanette Young (Samuel Young Sr. Deceased), one Stepdaughter Vanessa “Ness” Nicholson, one Stepson Orlando “Lanny” Nicholson, four Step Granddaughters, Shelanda, La’Shae, Orlanda, Dr. Candace Nicholson, her best friend Mrs. Arie Goldson, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
