Obituary
Born on May 22, 1963, in Baltimore, Maryland, Jackie’s life journey took her to many places, each one shaped by her vibrant spirit. At the age of 12, she moved to Panama, where she spent her formative years before settling in Houston, Texas, in 1980. There, she entered motherhood with her husband Cedric McCall, Sr and the birth of her first son, Cedric McCall Jr. an added source of pride and purpose in her life.
In 1988, Jackie answered the call to serve her country by enlisting in the U.S. Army. She served honorably during the Gulf War, Operation Desert Storm, where she displayed courage, resilience, and strength—qualities that would remain with her throughout her life.
In 1994, while near her older sister Kim in Central Texas, Jackie welcomed her second son, James. Their relationship was full of deep love and growth, marked by a bond that remained strong through life’s many ups and downs. Cedric and James hold a special place in Jackie’s heart.
When Jackie returned home to Baltimore, she was embraced by her mother, father, siblings, son, and a large extended family who brought joy to her life. Her bond with her beloved grandbabies James and Jamya, son James, her baby sister Angel, her older brother Jay, and her nieces and nephews was one of laughter, loyalty, and love. Jackie was a pillar in her neighborhood and loved by all. Everyone was always asking how Ms. Jackie was doing. She was known for sharing her love of plants and taking flowers to her neighbors.
Jackie built a circle of close friendships that became family in their own right. Her energy, wit, and smile left an imprint on everyone she encountered, and her presence brought warmth to every space she entered.
She is predeceased by her father, James Ford, and is survived by her loving sons, Cedric McCall Jr. and James Ford, grandchildren Little James and Jamya, her devoted mother, Norma, her siblings Jay, Kim, and Angel, her beloved nieces and nephews, and many dear friends who will carry her memory forward.
Jackie’s life was one of strength, individuality, and enduring love for those she held close. Though she has left this world, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
See you later alligator. Stay Safe and Blessed!
