Obituary
Jerome Alston, 72, passed away on February 16, 2022 in Columbia, MD. Jerome was born on March 17th, 1949 in Bronx, NY. He kept in touch with many of his hometown friends over the years. He later lived in Nashville, Tennessee and returned to NY for several years, before deciding on Columbia, MD as his home.
He graduated from Tennessee State University in 1981 and spent most of his professional career as a licensed and dedicated respiratory therapist. One of his greatest joys was keeping smiles on the faces of his patients.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ethel Lucille Alston, brother Samuel Alston and Charles (Juny) Alston Jr, sister Elaine Canty, and niece Lucille Alston. He is survived by his life partner, Joyce Umoh, sister Dolores Alston, great-nieces Letticia Alston, Stephanie Demorcy, Kiara Williams and niece Sheila Alston. He is also survived by his great-niece Nazare Alston, great-nephews Tikim Parker, Nathaniel Alston and numerous other loved ones.
His life will live on through his legacy, which was to encourage educational pursuit, help others, and work hard. His personality and sense of humor was larger than life. He will continue to live in our hearts and memories forever.
