Obituary

Louise Katherine Poe-Jones, aka PeeWee, Lou-Lou, Pooh, and Roadrunner, was born to the late Ruth Delma and Morgan Poe, of Naruna Virginia. She was preceded in death by siblings Marie Evon Lindsey, Edith Arlene Dickerson, Louis Kyle Poe (her twin), David Kyle Poe and Karen Verlena Poe. She was born in Naruna, Virginia and enjoyed a full life often quoted as saying that she was “Blessed and highly favored”.

Louise is survived by her son, Kendall Ivan Jones and his wife Rouhiyeh; sister-in-law, Edna Poe; nieces, Monica Lindsey and Lynn Poe; nephew David Poe Jr. and wife, Angie Poe; great-nieces, Morgan Alexandria Paige Drayton, Michaela Louise Michele’ Whalen, Dayonna Poe and Dajonnae Poe and a host of family and friends.

She attended schools in Campbell County, Va eventually graduating from Campbell County High School in Naruna and Virginia State University. Her first career path was in the loan and finance department with Crestar bank. After spending many years in banking, she decided to return to school in 1993 in order to find her true calling in Private Nursing.

Louise found enjoyment in treating those in medical need and caring for them like her own family. After retiring her biggest joy was seeing her son, nieces and nephews carry on the family legacy. Louise enjoyed watching football and basketball, traveling, cooking, gardening and volunteering in church. She loved listening to such great artists as Shirley Caesar, Marvin Gaye and Al Green. One of her favorite quotes is: “it’s not what you know but who you know”.
