Robert Anthony Litz Sr

Robert Anthony Litz Sr, 96, longtime resident of Jessup, Maryland passed away at home on Dec 1, 2025 after a brief and courageous journey with cancer. He faced his illness with the same positivity that defined his entire life.

He leaves behind Patricia Litz, loving wife of 39 years. He was blessed with four children and two stepchildren. Brenda, Bob Jr, Tommy, April, Heather and Page, grandchildren Bryan and Rebekah, Isabella, and Ava, and great grandchildren Dominic, Alex, Elliott, and Evan. He also leaves behind a sister, Sylvia Kahan of PA.

He was born May 25, 1929, in Homestead PA along with his younger sister Sylvia. While attending high school, Bob worked in the nearby steel mill supporting the war effort.  He resided in the area until he joined the Navy in 1947, serving 4 years at multiple locations; including: Great Lakes, IL, Jacksonville, FL, Memphis, TN, and finally Dahlgren, VA.

Bob held many jobs over the years from Fuller Brush Salesman, 7/11 District Manager, Limousine driver, to Aireco Heating and Air Conditioning driver to name a few and always had an exciting story to share about the people he met.

He was the first president of the Lion's Club of Bowie, MD, a founding member of the Howard County Savage Library mystery book club, and a passionate Washington Redskins fan. Bob could be found wearing a team logo jacket and hat most days. He passionately enjoyed cheering for the Redskin athletes and was an avid commentator among family and friends.

A memorial service was held Dec 9, 2025, in Jessup, MD followed by cremation.

He brought great joy, love, and laughter to all who knew him.  But most importantly he took excellent care of his family and the love of his life, Patricia.  His memory lives on through his family and friends. He will be missed by all.
